The secret's out

This morning before school, Megan asked me to come in the bathroom and help her with her hair. It's odd, because she NEVER wants help with her hair. She got it cut really short just so she wouldn't NEED help.

Let's just say I was pretty curious.

I walked into the bathroom and she quickly shut the door. "Mom, I didn't really want help with my hair. I just wanted to ask you a question. Did the Easter Bunny go shopping for stuff to put in our baskets or is it really you and dad?"

.............Totally NOT what I was expecting, but okay. I can play this cool....... "Well, what do you think?"

"I sorta wish it was the Easter Bunny, but I think it was you and dad."

"Um....yup."

"Are you the Tooth Fairy too? Do I get money from you when I lose a tooth?"

"Um....yup."

She stopped to think for a minute. Then her eyes opened really big. "YOU BOUGHT US A Wii!!!!!" (Santa brought the kids a Wii for Christmas.) "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU BOUGHT US A Wii!!!!"

(I guess she was surprised that her parents can be nice on occasion?)

"So, let me get this straight. The Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, and Santa aren't real?"

"Nope. They are real. They just happen to have other names they go by for most of the year - Mom and Dad."

"Okay. Cool. Can I tell Jared?"
